Wondered what a Flipped Classroom looks like?

This twilight INSET is for all teachers who want to change the dynamics of the teaching and learning.

  • ENHANCE your lessons with flipped learning.
  • ENCOURAGE independent learning techniques.
  • EMPOWER those that lack confidence and can use technology to learn independently.
  • EXCITE learners and bring together traditional practices and technology to create a modern learning environment.

Flipping the classroom is relatively straight forward. I can share with you how to flip your classroom on my new Flipped Classroom INSET.

In only two hours you will know everything there is to know about flipped learning.

The benefits of flipping your Classroom:

  •  Encourages and enforces independent learning.
  • Allows students the opportunity to use guided practise.
  • Makes great use of the schools technology.
  • Students should work harder than you, during your lessons.
  • An effective and subtle way to differentiate the learning.
  • You become the curator to the quality learning resources available.
  • Video resources are now abundant, free and excellent quality.
  • Students learn how to access resources to improve their learning.
  • It’s free.

Mary Wescott (featured in the video below) discovered Flipped Learning towards the end of her career, not until then did she decide to take a risk and try something new. For Mary, the flipped classroom has totally changed her view of teaching and brought a new dimension to her job. She loves and regularly flips her classroom.

Made by Oscar Stringer.

Some subjects are easier to flip, Maths, Science etc. Others may need a slightly different approach, for example making a film or an animation at home, explaining a process or understanding for literacy.

Feedback from previous training days

“The course was very enjoyable and provided me with a huge amount of ideas on how to enhance MFL teaching through ipads and apps. For any tech phobes out there, of which I was one, Oscar explains everything very clearly and the ideas are accessible and easy to implement.” Isabella. French/Spanish Teacher, Broomwood Hall Upper School.

Thank you very much for the training yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked the selection of apps, the individual attention you gave and your patience with everyone. Each app was explained very well and the session was well paced and not rushed. Thanks again. Katja,

Head of Pre-Preparatory School Languages, Rochester.

“Many thanks for a great day learning about how to use iPads in MFL. I really learned loads and gained confidence using Ipads in class. I like the way your advice and tips were targeted to the variety of different contexts in each participant’s school, and the hands on approach to practising using the apps. I am taking lots of ideas back to my school and am already implementing them into my practice.” – Merci!

“I found the course very helpful from my starting-point of not using my iPad much for teaching. The course was very hands-on and enjoyable. From my first day back at work afterwards I have been putting what I learnt into practise and will be feeding back to my department in due course.” – Emily
