Advanced model animation- Sound, Editing, and More

Develop your ICT skills and take animation further - 5th Dec 2008

Many teachers have requested a course that will allow them the opportunity to explore more advanced techniques as well as time to get to grips with post production, adding sound effects, titles, music and special effects.

During the course you will learn how to: reduce ideas down to their simplest form, look at the art of reacting to action, pausing the action and slowing the movement down. You will also work with sound effects and the use of different shots used in filmmaking.

Oscar has been working with Animation in education for over ten years; working in schools and colleges introducing teachers and students of all ages and abilities to creative ideas for the classroom as well as making his own short films and educational resources. Oscar has spent the summer working with the BBC and the British Council, taking animation and digital video to a wider audience.

The course will be held at the Institute of Education in London on the 5th Dec 2008.

Animation is an effective way of engaging students in literacy and topic based projects, using ICT creatively and is a fun curricular activity suited to the classroom environment.

I will be running a hands-on animation day for teachers, with a focus on using ICT and animation to support different areas of the curiculum. The course will be held at The Institute Of Education, London, on the 21st November 2008

The course is for anyone regardless of their experience with ICT!


Oscar has been working with animation in education for over ten years; in schools and colleges introducing teachers and students of all ages and abilities to creative ideas and methods for supporting the curriculum with ICT.

This one-day course will give you the opportunity to gain knowledge and hands on experience using the latest software and hardware. Use the course as an opportunity to get to know your own equipment, bring laptops and cameras with you if you wish.

You will learn tips and tricks for getting great results quickly in the classroom, ideas to take back and use with your class as well as teaching resources designed to kick start animation projects.

This hands on course will give you an opportunity to learn the basics of using digital video in the classroom.
Tips and tricks for shooting quality usable footage.
Digital video project ideas that will work in the classroom.
(DO NOT RECORD THE SCHOOL PLAY AND TRY TO EDIT IT!!!!!!!!!)
Learn how to edit your video footage on Mac or PC.
Finished films can be put on pen drives or CD.
Teachers notes will be provided.
The course will be from 9.30 - 3.30
