Digital Video for students

This day - long workshop will introduce students to basic film making techniques. A practical hands - on course where students will be encouraged to use all the equipment, make the creative decisions. and tell their own story. One of the advantages to the user - friendly nature of current technology and digital creativity is that students can take ownership of their ideas.

This workshop has also been very successful as a two or three-day course. This allows students (in the summer term) to create promotional-style videos of their school on the theme of transition, for students coming from either pre school or primary.

Taking photos around the school or in the local community, the students will develop an understanding of how to use a camera and take well composed quality photos. (As companies promote their cameras as point - and - shoot this can encourage lazy photography, with a little thought ANYONE take a great photo) The photos are then downloaded into the computer, here the pictures can be edited and cropped, then using free easy - to - use software, students will create very simple digital stories/ presentations. These presentations can then be showcased at the end of the day.
