From Apple iOS Developer Academies to Leading in an AI World

Leveraging a decade of experience designing and delivering soft-skills workshops at Apple’s global academies, this one-day seminar helps teams and leaders develop clarity, storytelling, and presentation skills that will make AI-powered workplaces more effective.

Potentially AI will likely make smart people smarter, accelerating research, drafts, options and iteration. Right now organisations of all sizes are discovering the bottleneck isn’t output. It’s alignment.

In an AI-enabled workplace, we need teams who can:

  • Choose what matters (judgement)

  • Articulate it clearly (communication)

  • Persuade and align stakeholders (story + influence)

  • Stay calm under pressure (confidence + presence)

This one-day programme is a seminar + practical lab that builds those capabilities in a way people can reuse immediately, in meetings, updates, demos, decision memos, pitches, and stakeholder conversations.

When Apple launched its global iOS Developer Academies, soft skills like presenting, storytelling, and creative problem-solving were already a priority, long before AI became a workplace crowbar. Today, as AI tools speed up research, options, and output, the human skills that turn ideas into decisions are more important than ever. This one-day seminar shows how proven Academy methods can help your teams communicate clearly, make decisions faster, and lead effectively in an AI-augmented world

Why book me

In 2016, Apple invited me to co-design and deliver communication workshops for its global iOS Developer Academies. Over the next decade, I helped thousands of developers and designers pitch ideas, present clearly, and communicate complex work under pressure.

Did Apple know AI would make clarity and communication even more critical? Maybe. Either way, these soft skills are more important than ever. This day brings those methods into your organisation: proven frameworks for storytelling, challenge-based learning, and creative problem-solving, tailored for AI-augmented workflows.

Format: 1 day (in-person or online)
Ideal group size: 12–30 (larger cohorts possible)
Best for: leadership cohorts, high-potential programmes, cross-functional teams, AI rollouts, innovation groups

What you’ll achieve (L&D outcomes)

Participants leave with:

  • A shared clarity framework for presenting and decision-making

  • Tools to reduce “AI noise” and increase signal

  • Improved confidence in high-stakes communication

  • A repeatable process for turning ambiguity into action (CBL)

  • A method to unblock teams when thinking gets stuck

  • A practical pilot plan for embedding the skills (what to run next, with whom, and how to measure)

Suggested measurement signals

  • Speed to decision / fewer decision loops

  • Shorter meetings, clearer updates

  • Higher stakeholder alignment

  • Confidence scores pre/post

  • Improved quality of pitches/proposals

Programme agenda (seminar + lab)

1) The AI clarity problem (30 mins)

AI increases output; humans create alignment.
Mini-lab: turn messy AI-generated material into a one-line through-line.

2) What scaled globally (45–60 mins)

The transferable patterns from a decade of delivery: clarity, story, confidence, pitch.
Output: map where communication breaks down in your organisation.

3) Clarity under pressure (75 mins)

Tame the presenter + structure that wins (context → point → proof / rule of three).
Lab: build a 60–90 second message from real workplace content.

4) Challenge Based Learning as a workplace process (75 mins)

Turn ambiguous challenges into action; use AI to accelerate research/options while humans lead judgement.
Lab: groups run a mini CBL sprint on a real business challenge.

5) Creative disruption when teams are stuck (60 mins)

Prompts/constraints to generate options fast, then converge.
Output: 10–20 options → shortlist 3.

6) Influence: pitching the decision (60 mins)

How to present a direction so leaders/stakeholders can say yes; handling Q&A.
Lab: 2-minute pitches + Q&A.

7) Implementation plan (30 mins)

A simple rollout plan: first pilot, audiences, cadence, measurement.
