Present Like Jobs
Build a killer presentation with clarity, simplicity, and story.
Most presentations don’t fail because the speaker lacks knowledge. They fail because the message isn’t clear enough to remember and the story isn’t strong enough to move people to action.
Steve Jobs became famous for the opposite: relentless clarity. He believed simplicity was hard work, getting your thinking clean so an audience can understand it quickly.
This half-day workshop gives you a practical, repeatable method for creating presentations that feel sharp, confident, and compelling, whether you’re pitching, presenting to stakeholders, launching a product, or explaining complex work.
Format: Half-day workshop (3–3.5 hours)
Delivery: Online or in-person
Ideal for: Individuals, teams, startups, product/tech, education, creative teams
What you’ll be able to do
By the end of the session, you’ll be able to:
-
Distil any talk into one clear “big idea”
-
Write a headline-style message that’s easy to repeat
-
Structure your talk with a simple narrative arc (so people stay with you)
-
Use the rule of three to make content more memorable
-
Create cleaner slides that support your message (not compete with it)
-
Build contrast and momentum so your audience feels the “why now”
-
Land a strong close with a clear next step / call to action
You’ll leave with a drafted presentation (or a redesigned version of an existing one), plus templates you can reuse.
The Jobs-inspired method (what makes this different)
This workshop is inspired by the presentation principles Jobs used consistently:
-
Simplicity is a strategy: less content, more clarity
-
Story structure wins: clear beginning, middle, end
-
Rule of three: organise messages into threes so they stick
-
Show, don’t tell: well-timed demos and concrete examples
-
Rehearsal creates confidence: clarity is built before the room, not in the room
Half-day agenda
A typical flow:
1) The Big Idea (20–30 mins)
Define the one thing you want the audience to remember and repeat.
2) Build the Story Arc (40–50 mins)
Shape the talk using a simple narrative structure that creates momentum.
3) The Rule of Three (20–30 mins)
Turn complexity into 3 clear points (and remove the rest).
4) Slide Clarity (30–40 mins)
Simplify visuals, reduce clutter, and make slides support the message.
5) The “Jobs Moment” (30–40 mins)
Design one standout moment: a reveal, demo, contrast, or simple proof that makes the idea feel real.
6) Rehearse the First Minute + the Close (20–30 mins)
We lock in the opening, transitions, and final call to action — the parts that set confidence and drive decisions.
(The workshop can be tailored to pitches, product updates, keynotes, interviews, or internal presentations.)
