Trust the Physics.
I shot and edited the short video below on the iPad Air, using the latest version of iMovie. The editing took less than twenty minutes, quick and easy, perfect for capturing evidence in science lessons.
Apple have made video editing, easier than ever. iMovie is now free, on all new iPads.
When filming, especially any dialogue, getting the iPad close to the action is crucial for capturing quality sound.
The video stars, science teacher Steve Davies from the Clevedon School in Somerset. He’s developed this lesson, since the school went 1-1 with iPads a year ago. A fun and interactive lesson, proving familiar laws of physics and then collecting the data, with a free app called Accelerometer. The content of the lesson hasn’t changed hugely, the outcomes and objectives remain the same, all the iPad and app have done, is added a more professional and accurate method for collecting and visualising the data. The technology hasn’t dominated, but empowered both teachers and students, to complete the evidence gathering, quickly and easily. The way it should be.
